The Gyarah Rudri Shiv Temple is one of the most famous and ancient temples in Kaithal, dedicated to Lord Shiva in his eleven Rudra forms. It is believed to have origins dating back to the Mahabharata period, and according to tradition, Lord Krishna established eleven Rudras here for peace after the war.

Another legend says that Arjuna worshipped Lord Shiva at this place and received the powerful Pashupatastra.
